وصف الكتاب
Transit Beirut contains some sto r ies which were specificially written fo r the anthology, others are nwely translated fr om Arabic a nd French into English. All of them, to some extent, deal with individuals coming to terms with post-war Lebanon-sometimes in unexpected ways like food, music o r avoiding plastic surgery.
To reduce the wide-ranging sto r ies a nd visual essays in Transit Beirut to a single unifying viewpoint would be misleading. Yet all of them have been created by people who are fo r med by their affiliation to Beirut a nd its diverse culture. Clearly, it is these fears a nd aspirations that drive the city fo r ward.
